Our Office is Powered by Tesla

DPA unveiled the Tesla Powerwall 2 Li-Ion Battery, in an installation designed to power our headquarters in Borrowdale, Zimbabwe with solar. This was the first Tesla battery used in an office solution.

The Tesla batteries allow for increased energy storage on site, and are geared to improve power back-up by up to 48 hours designed to suit our customers’ needs.  We believe that this technology, now part of our solar offering, will give businesses improved productivity, while reducing diesel use. We will be offering the Tesla batteries to commercial and industrial customers as part of our off-grid solution, which has packages ranging from 5kW to 5MW.

Many companies have embraced solar energy as a more sustainable solution, and the storage in the Tesla batteries makes it possible for businesses to be less dependent on the grid.  The system is ideal for solutions for schools, clinics, offices, fuel stations, warehouses, telecom towers and supermarkets.

We will monitor the batteries as part of our energy management solution, using a remote monitoring, and control platform.  Each battery is paired with a specific energy Gateway, is registered with Tesla by DPA and can be switched off remotely if theft is reported.
